Sutherlin Police are investigating an arson incident which took place Wednesday morning.

Captain Kurt Sorenson said at just after 3:00 a.m. a witness said there was a large fire behind a business in the 600 block of East Central. Sutherlin Fire and an SPD officer responded and found that the recycling and garbage area was nearly completely in flames. Sorenson said it appeared that the fire had been intentionally started. Crews put the fire out.

Sorenson said police have no leads in the case, at this time.
