Tuesday evening fire departments across Douglas County sent ten apparatus and two command vehicles to the Jack Fire to assist with structural protection in the Dry Creek and Steamboat areas.

Information from Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said the decision was made to send local mutual resources to the fire while the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office was activating conflagration task forces. Mutual aid crews left from Dixonville at around 6:00 p.m. and worked through the night. Crews were relieved Wednesday morning by four task forces from across the state and an Oregon State Fire Marshal overhead team.

Douglas County fire departments that participated were from Lookingglass, North Douglas, Roseburg, Winston-Dillard, Riddle, Oakland, Sutherlin, Tenmile and Douglas County Fire District No. 2.
