Two Roseburg men were jailed in a forgery and firearms case on Wednesday.

A report from Roseburg Police said 21-year old Andrew Easterbrook allegedly paid $1,200 in counterfeit money to purchase an AR on March 29th. An officer saw that the suspect was attempting to sell an AR via Snapchat using their investigative tool and made an inquiry about purchasing it.

The report said prior to meeting with Easterbrook, the weapon was sold but the suspect and a friend agreed to meet up and purchase a couple of guns in the Walmart parking lot on Northwest Stewart Parkway. Believing they would likely show up with counterfeit money again, the officer set up the deal.

Several officers and detectives contacted Easterbrook and 19-year old Trevion Karcher at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. They were both taken into custody. Karcher was reportedly in possession of 16 counterfeit $100 bills.

Easterbrook was charged with two counts each of first-degree forgery and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and for one count of first-degree theft. He was detained on $250,000 bail. Karcher was charged with first degree counts of forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument and for unlawful purchase of a firearm. Bail was set at $106,250.
