Umpqua Indian Development Corporation, the business division of the Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe, has announced that the minimum wage for its approximately 850 team members is now $14 per hour.

A release said team members who were earning less than that had their hourly wage increased on March 1st.  All new hires will receive $14 per hour with benefits as their entry salary.

UIDC Vice President of Business Operations Travis Hill said, “UIDC has always offered strong support to its Team Members”. Hill said traditional medical benefits, including dental and vision, 401K and paid time off have been part of their “package” for years. He said as an employment leader in southern Oregon, “…the responsibility to take care of our Team Members has been a top priority for UIDC.

Hill said they have always known that when they achieved their goals financially, UIDC wanted to share that success with Team Members. He said the $14 per hour minimum wage is a result of a UIDC goal to make sure people are rewarded for work well done and are encouraged to continue “…their quality performance”.

Umpqua Indian Development Corporation became a US Federal Chartered Corporation in 1997. Administrative offices for UIDC are in Roseburg. The UIDC reports to the eleven-member Cow Creek Tribal Board.
