A COVID-19 diagnosis has delayed Oregon House floor sessions until next week.

A release from House Speaker Tina Kotek said on Monday, officials learned that an individual who was present at the Capitol has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Potential exposure may have occurred on the floor of the House on March 15th and 16th.

The release said human resources staff is notifying all individuals who appear to have had close contact with the individual.

After consulting with Marion County Public Health, the Legislature has been advised that all symptom-free individuals who were on the House floor should quarantine for 10 days following their last exposure, which is through Friday March 26th. The release said the House will not return to floor sessions until Monday March 29th at the earliest. Committee work, which is being done remotely, will continue as planned.

Facilities staff fumigated the House chamber and wings on Monday and continue to regularly clean the Capitol in line with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
