COVID-19 CLAIMS 2 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,324, AS OF MONDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 2 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,324, as of Monday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 178 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 159,788. The new cases include:

*36 in Multnomah County

*32 in Washington County

*22 in Jackson County

*20 in Clackamas County

*13 in Coos County

*11 each in Clackamas and Klamath counties

*10 in Lane County

*7 in Marion County

*5 each in Benton and Douglas counties

*4 in Polk County

*3 in Josephine County

*2 each in Deschutes and Jefferson counties

*1 each in Baker, Curry, Harney, Lincoln, Linn and Yamhill counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 69 to 85. Both lived in Columbia County.

OHA said the total number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 118, which is 18 more than on Sunday. There are 23 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 more than on Sunday.

OHA reported that 24,077 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 13,529 doses were administered on Sunday. 10,548 were administered on previous days, but were entered into the vaccine registry on Sunday.

OHA has now administered a cumulative total of 1,346,090 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 1,642,505 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
