COVID-19 CLAIMS 8 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,162, AS OF TUESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 8 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,162, as of Tuesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 528 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 153,645. The new cases include:

*64 in Washington County

*55 in Multnomah County

*47 in Clackamas County

*46 in Jackson County

*40 in Lane County

*37 in Marion County

*34 in Deschutes County

*29 in Douglas County

*20 in Umatilla County

*17 each in Josephine and Benton counties

*15 in Yamhill County

*12 each in Columbia and Polk counties

*11 each in Coos and Klamath County

*9 in Jefferson County

*8 in Linn County

*6 in Crook County

*5 each in Baker, Malheur and Union counties

*4 each in Clatsop, Harney, and Morrow counties

*3 each in Curry and Lincoln counties

*2 in Tillamook County

*1 in Grant County

The new deaths ranged in age from 47 to 93. 2 lived in Marion County. 1 each lived in Clackamas, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, Multnomah and Umatilla counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 165, which is 2 fewer than on Monday. There are 44 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 3 fewer than on Monday.

OHA reported that 14,917 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 9,235 doses were administered on Monday. 5,682 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Monday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 836,075 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 1,092,385 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
