HIGHEST COUNTY DAILY CASE COUNT FOR COVID-19 REPORTED WEDNESDAY

November 11, 2020 3:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team reported the highest daily county case count for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

27 more people have received positive test results and there is 1 new presumptive case of COVID-19. The 28 new reported cases top the county’s previous high which was 25 new cases reported on Sunday. The update said the new cases are due to a large number of people attending social events and not following COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing and the wearing of face coverings while in close contact with others. It said residents are asked to control the spread of COVID-19 by choosing to not attend these events and by delaying in-person parties, events and meetings until a later date. The update said residents should stay home when they are sick.

The total number of cases is now 545. Of those, 486 are people that have received positive test results and 59 are presumptive. There have been 10 deaths. 12 Douglas County patients are being hospitalized for COVID-19 locally. 148 people are in isolation. 559 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 707 people that are in either isolation or quarantine. 16,809 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the county.

The next drive through testing clinic with DPHN is Friday in Roseburg.
