Nearly 57 percent of registered voters have cast a ballot in the November General Election.
Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis told News Radio 1240 KQEN that 47,659 ballots have been received as of Wednesday night. That is 15 percent ahead of the participation rate for the same time as the 2016 general election and over 13 percent ahead of the participation rate for the 2012 general election.
Loomis said of the ballots received, over 37 percent have arrived via the U.S. Postal Service and nearly 23 percent have come directly to the courthouse. The remainder have come from the other drop sites.
Loomis said voters should now use one of the 13 official election drop sites to return their ballot. Those sites are listed in a link with this story at www.541radio.com: https://www.co.douglas.or.us/clerk/drop_site_locations.asp. Ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, November 3rd.
Voters who have not yet received a ballot should visit the Clerk’s Office in person at the courthouse.
