CRATER LAKE VISITOR CENTER CLOSED, PARK OPEN FOR VISITS

March 19, 2020 9:15 a.m.
While the visitor center has been closed, Crater Lake National Park is open for those who want to visit, as long as they practice social distancing.
A release from the National Park Service said fees will not be collected at the Annie Springs Entrance Station until further notice. Ranger guided snowshoe walks have been canceled. Residents can still view the lake, or go for a snowshoe walk or cross-country ski on their own. The Rim Café and Gift Shop remains open daily. Food is available for take-out only and cannot be consumed in the building.
Those who want to take social distancing a step further can virtually visit the park by checking the webcams. A link is posted with the story at www.541radio.com.  https://www.nps.gov/crla/learn/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm
The release said the agency is working with federal, state, and local authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation. The public will be notified when full operations resume.
