In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

The Umpqua Valley Youth Orchestra continues registration for the 2026/2027 season.

UVYO is a string orchestra consisting of violins, violas, cello and string bass with occasional percussion and piano. Students must be at least six years of age to enroll

Students have weekly classes from pre-beginning up to advanced students. They will learn classical, baroque, romantic and modern music as well as current original works and music from Broadway, movies and pop. Students will perform in two large concerts at Umpqua Community College as well as other outreach opportunities in the community. Classes are held on Thursday afternoons at Roseburg Seventh Day Adventist Church on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.
