Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team, and officers with Roseburg Police, arrested a wanted man on Monday.
Lieutenant Rick McArthur of DINT told News Radio 1240 KQEN the agencies worked together to apprehend 25-year old Jesse Block, of Winchester. McArthur said Block was wanted by RPD for a recent case of attempting to elude an officer, as well as for a parole violation.
McArthur said police also had information indicating that Block was armed with a handgun. Staff with DINT and RPD discovered a possible location for Block. They conducted a traffic stop in the area of Southeast Stephens near Woodward Avenue in Roseburg. Block was a passenger in the vehicle that was stopped and was taken into custody without incident at approximately 9:00 a.m.
McArthur said a search of Block revealed user amounts of heroin, methamphetamine and suboxone, as well as an electric stun device that is illegal for convicted felons to possess. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded .380 handgun where Block had been sitting, according to McArthur.
DINT charged the suspect with unlawful possession of meth, heroin, and a Schedule III controlled substance. He was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon. RPD charged Block with attempt to elude a police officer, driving while suspended, and for a parole violation.
He was held without bail in the Douglas County Jail.
