The City of Roseburg, in partnership with the United Community Action Network, has a panel exhibit on housing discrimination on display at the Roseburg Public Library.
“Anywhere but Here: The History of Housing Discrimination in Oregon” consists of seven richly illustrated panels that chronicle Oregon’s history of discrimination, segregation and displacement; the progress that has been made in overcoming history and the challenges that remain, according to a library release.
Library Director Kris Wiley said the exhibit was made possible by the Fair Housing Council of Oregon and can be viewed whenever the library is open through December 31st.
Wiley said the FHCO is a nonprofit civil rights organization driven to eliminate illegal housing discrimination through enforcement and education across Oregon.
