POTENTIALLY HISTORIC WIND STORM HEADED TO SOUTHERN OREGON

November 26, 2019 4:20 a.m.
A potentially historic wind storm is headed to southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said a highly unusual, rapidly deepening Pacific Storm system is expected to make landfall on the southern Oregon coast Tuesday evening. Surface low pressure, potentially one of the deepest recorded in recent history, will produce very strong winds across the region, particularly at the coast, over area ridges, and in the valleys of multiple counties.
A Wind Advisory remains in place from 1:00 p.m. Tuesday to 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. Southeast winds between 15 and 25 miles an hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour are expected. The Advisory area includes central Douglas County and the eastern foothills in the county.
