WIND ADVISORY FOR TUESDAY

November 25, 2019 4:30 a.m.
A potentially historic wind storm is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening for parts of the region and a Wind Advisory is in place.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said a highly unusual, rapidly deepening Pacific storm system is expected to make landfall on the southern Oregon coast Tuesday evening. This surface low pressure is potentially one of the deepest recorded in recent memory, and will produce very strong winds across the region, particularly at the coast, over ridgelines and in the valleys of some southern Oregon counties.
The Wind Advisory is in effect between 1:00 p.m. Tuesday and 1:00 a.m. Wednesday for southeast winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. The Advisory area includes Roseburg, Glendale, Elkton, Camas Valley, Sutherlin and Drain.
Forecasters said the gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
