Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged prior theft on Tuesday afternoon.

An RPD report said just before 5:00 p.m. officers contacted the 39-year-old near Eagles Park in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson Street because he was the suspect in a theft that occurred at a business on Northwest Stewart Parkway on September 14th. The man admitted to the theft and was detained without incident. A detainer was authorized for the new crime by the man’s parole officer.

He was charged with second-degree theft and parole violation. Bail was set at $6,250. The man was released later in the day.
