Saving Grace Humane Society has announced that it will join hundreds of animal shelters and rescues across the country to participate in the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Rescue Effect campaign.

A release said the campaign raises awareness about the importance of pet adoption and fostering, while helping place more animals into loving homes.

As part of the three-month campaign, Saving Grace will host fee-waived adoption events at its shelter this Friday and Saturday, September 4th and 5th and October 16th and 7th. During these events, adoption fees, which typically range from $25 to $225 depending on the animal, will be waived for approved adopters.

Saving Grace Development Director Melissa Owens said, “At Saving Grace, we see every day how life-changing adoption can be for both animals and the people who welcome them home,” Owens said. “Thanks to the ASPCA’s support, we’re able to remove one more barrier to adoption during these fee-waived events. We encourage anyone who has been thinking about adding a pet to their family to come meet their new best friend.”

The release said launching in August and continuing through October, the Rescue Effect is the ASPCA’s national campaign dedicated to helping organizations increase adoptions and engage the public. This year, the ASPCA is once again providing two million dollars in grants to cover adoption fees and support operations at participating shelters and rescue groups across the country with some holding fee-waived adoption events.
