After a week of hot weather, the Umpqua Valley will start to trend cooler and more towards seasonal normal temperatures this week.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that afternoon high temperatures Monday and Tuesday will be near 90 degrees, before dropping to the mid 80’s Wednesday and Thursday.

Forecasters said temperatures will warm a bit starting Friday with at least the potential for thunderstorms in eastern Douglas County Friday and Saturday. This would likely be confined to the Toteketee Falls and Diamond Lake areas.

The mercury reached 94 degrees on Sunday and 95 degrees on Saturday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
