Rogue Credit Union is expanding its support of Umpqua Community College’s efforts to create opportunities for students, families and residents throughout Douglas County through a new five-year partnership.

A UCC release said established on July 14th, the partnership will support UCC’s new track and field facility and further the college’s work to provide welcoming spaces where students and community members can learn, compete, connect and thrive. The track is now recognized as the UCC Track & Field Complex sponsored by Rogue Credit Union.

UCC President Dr. Rachel Pokrandt said, “Rogue Credit Union has been a valued partner to UCC and our students for many years”. Pokrandt said, “This expanded partnership reflects a shared investment in Douglas County. While the track will provide an outstanding venue for our student-athletes, its greatest impact will be felt across the community as a welcoming space for our programs, local events, recreation and opportunities that bring people together for years to come”. Pokrandt said, “We are grateful for Rogue’s continued commitment to youth, families and education”.

The release said the expanded partnership will help UCC establish a community asset that serves far more than collegiate athletics. The new facility will offer opportunities for K-12 competitions, youth programming, community recreation, campus events and regional gatherings, helping residents of all activities stay active, build connections and celebrate together.

Rogue Credit Union President/CEO said Matt Stephenson said, “Supporting the UCC Track aligns with our commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. We’re excited to help create a space that will inspire students, welcome families, and provide opportunities for people throughout Douglas County to gather, compete and stay active”.

UCC will celebrate the grand opening of the track and field facility on Saturday, August 29th. The celebration will feature activities for all ages, a community ribbon-cutting ceremony and opportunities to experience the new facility firsthand. Additional event details will be announced soon.
