A Tenmile man was charged with 4th degree felony assault following a disturbance on Thursday evening.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:15 p.m. deputies responded to a disturbance on the 800 block of Tenmile Valley Road in the Tenmile area. A victim reported that the 48-year-old suspect had pushed her face several times when they were in her vehicle on Tenmile Valley Road. The victim claimed that when she pulled into her driveway, the man punched her in the mouth with a closed fist. The victim complained of pain to the right side of her face and demonstrated that two of her teeth had been knocked loose.
The deputy also observed swelling on the victim’s lip and blood in her mouth. The suspect admitted to striking the victim but stated he had done so with an open hand only. The victim is eight months pregnant, and a minor child witnessed the incident. The man was detained without bail.
