Monday was the hottest day of 2026 so far in the Umpqua Valley, but even weather is expected for Tuesday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 86 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous hottest day of the year was 85 degrees, reached on May 24th, May 21st and May 3rd. Strong high pressure in the region is expected to lead to an afternoon high of around 87 degrees on Tuesday.
Forecasters said a front moving in on Wednesday will cool the region back down to normal seasonal temperatures with highs in the mid 70’s expected for most of the rest of the week.
