COMMISSIONERS ISSUE PROCLAMATION FOR NATIONAL NURSES WEEK

On Wednesday, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation at their weekly business meeting calling upon all citizens of the county to observe National Nurses Week, which continues through next Tuesday, May 12th.

A county release said the proclamation was presented by Commissioner Boice who noted that the proclamation also carried personal significance stating, “My son Allen has just graduated nursing school this past Saturday”.

Commissioner Kress presented Nurse Appreciation Week proclamation certificates to nurses and administrators from CHI Mercy Medical Center, Aviva Health Care, Umpqua Health Alliance, UCAN’s Nurse Home Visiting Program, Roseburg VA Medical Center, the Umpqua Community College Nursing program and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office – Corrections Division.

A few staff members from the organizations and agencies spoke about the recognition and their work in nursing as well.
