Tuesday’s late afternoon and early evening stormy conditions led to some power outages in rural areas of Douglas County.
At 7:15 p.m. Douglas Electric Cooperative lost transmission to the Elkton and Scottsburg substations resulting in a large-scale outage affecting those areas. At approximately 8:00 p.m. the utility had a feeder down in the Melrose area, due to a fallen tree. That outage was restored at about 8:40 p.m.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. crews located a dead tree from outside the right of way. Work began to clear it from the line. Power was restored to all Douglas Electric customers by approximately 10:55 p.m.
