Roseburg Police cited a man for prohibited camping early Monday.

An RPD report said at approximately 4:45 a.m. officers contacted the 50-year-old at his camp in the area of the duck pond, in the 1100 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The man reportedly had a pitched tent with several tarps tied to nearby trees, forming a wall around his camp. He stated that he was aware of the city ordinance and knew that he was not allowed to be camping there.

The man was released after being given a citation.
