ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED THEFT INCIDENT, WEAPON VIOLATION

Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft incident and a weapon violation on Monday night.

An RPD report said at 8:00 pm. officers contacted the 28-year-old at a store in the 2000 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard after it was reported that he had stolen a tip jar from a nearby coffee stand.

The suspect admitted to stealing the tip jar. During a search of his person, officers reportedly found brass knuckles in his pocket. He was charged with third-degree theft and carrying a concealed weapon. Bail was set at $2,500.
