Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported menacing incident on Saturday night.

An RPD report said just before 8:40 p.m. officers responded after a caller said there was a physical altercation between 39-year-old Keenan Attebury and a victim at a business in the 1500 block of Northeast Stephens Street.

The victim said that Attebury had threatened her with a firearm at a nearby business and she had fled to this location. The man allegedly lied multiple times about being in possession of a firearm until an officer saw it on the floorboard of his vehicle. Attebury still denied threatening the victim with the firearm.

Based on both of their statements, Attebury was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was obtained to retrieve the firearm from his vehicle. Attebury was charged with menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful pointing a firearm at another, harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was detained without bail.
