A man was hospitalized after an overnight wreck early Friday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:00 a.m. a woman called and said a vehicle had just crashed into her yard near the intersection of Anne Street and Hayhurst Road in the Yoncalla area. A deputy found the vehicle on its top in the yard and saw a man walking nearby. The driver said he was going westbound when his sedan hit gravel and he lost control of the car.

The driver stated that he is a diabetic. Medical personnel said the man’s sugars were so high that it would not read on their machine. He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The man will be cited for a violation count of driving while suspended along with other violations. The sedan was towed away.
