Early Tuesday Roseburg Police charged a man with menacing for an incident that allegedly took place on Sunday.

An RPD report said on that day officers responded to the 1200 block of Northwest Ellan Street after a caller said the suspect was threatening a victim while trying to break down the door to the room that she was hiding in. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect had ripped the phone out of the wall to prevent the victim from placing a call. The suspect was not on the scene when officers arrived.

The 54-year old was located at the residence Tuesday morning shortly after 12:40 a.m. He was taken into custody without issue.

The man was charged with menacing and for interfering with making a report. He was detained without bail.
