CITY OF ROSEBURG RESIDENTIAL LEAF PICKUPS TO BEGIN ON NOVEMBER 2ND

October 29, 2026 3:50 a.m.

Roseburg Public Works crews will provide residential leaf collection inside the city limits from Monday, November 2nd, through Monday, January 4th of next year.

A city release said the work will begin in the Laurelwood neighborhood behind Roseburg High School and work clockwise around the city. Each cycle generally takes about a month, depending on the amount of leaves collected. The route will be repeated throughout the program.

The cyclical route helps the city provide an effective, cost-conscious service while keeping leaves out of storm drains, creeks and rivers. Last year, crews collected 1,080 cubic yards of leaves equal to about 108 standard dump truck loads.

Public Works Director Ryan Herinckx said, “The leaf pickup program helps keep the city street drains, as well as the storm pipe infrastructure, clean and functioning properly.”

Residents participating in the program should place leaves in neat piles along the edge of their property or in the street in front of their property before crews arrive.

Residents should also:

*Keep leaf piles free of branches, rocks and other debris

*Place piles away from parked vehicles

*Keep gutters, ditches, bike lanes and catch basins clear

*Remember that crews will collect only leaves that have been raked into piles

*Keep drainage structures clear during rainstorms until the leaves are collected

Residents are responsible for hazards created by the placement of their leaves.

Public Works crews may also deliver free dump truck loads of collected leaves to locations within city limits, depending on scheduling and availability.

Route updates and additional information are available on the Public Works Department’s leaf pickup webpage.
