Roseburg Police cited a man for unlawful possession of a controlled substance early Tuesday morning.

An RPD report said shortly before 1:00 a.m. officers contacted a vehicle regarding a separate case in the 2500 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. During their contact, they noticed a 33-year-old who was the rear passenger of the vehicle. Officers observed that he had a clear bag containing a while powder like substance on his lap. The man was released after being given a citation.
