A pickup versus bicycle crash sent a rider to the hospital on Thursday morning.

A Roseburg Police Department report said just before 8:00 a.m. officers responded to the accident at the intersection of Northwest Kline Street and Northwest Calkins Road. During the investigation, officers found that the motorist was traveling southbound on Kline Street and drove through the intersection of Calkins to continue onto Northwest Lester Street when he struck the female bicyclist who was traveling eastbound on Calkins.

The rider was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for further evaluation. The motorist was cited for failure of a driver entering a roadway to yield the right of way.
