Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team jailed a man on Monday who they had been looking since a large illicit marijuana growing operation was located in August.

DINT Commander Lieutenant Nick Hansen told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that on August 4th, DINT served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Tunnel Road in Glendale. As DINT entered the property, 46-year-old Adam Paul Stewart fled on foot with a suspected firearm. Hansen said law enforcement searched for Stewart for some time but were unable to locate him.

During the warrant service on Stewart’s residence and property, DINT dismantled the growing operation in which 527 marijuana plants were seized and destroyed, and more than 300 pounds of processed marijuana was seized. Hansen said additionally, DINT seized multiple firearms, residue amounts of methamphetamine, a stolen U-Haul vehicle which was being dismantled, and a commercial welder that is believed to have been stolen from a work site.

Hansen said on Monday Stewart was located while he was attending an unrelated hearing at the Douglas County Courthouse. He was taken into custody and transported to corrections. Stewart was charged with unlawful manufacture and delivery of a marijuana item, unlawful possession by a person over age 21, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and possession of a stolen vehicle. Stewart was detained without bail.
