The OSU Extension Service recently announced its fall program calendar for Douglas County residents.

A release from the extension said they offer several courses in small farms, family and community health, forestry & natural resources, food safety and preservation, livestock & forages, 4-H, and the Master Gardener™ program.

The Master Gardeners Plant Clinic takes place Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Master Food Preservers events include:

• Pressure gauge testing on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays from mid-July through mid-October at the Extension Office.
• Home Food Safety & Preservation Helpline, July – October, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Other events include winter cover cropping on October 1^st from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the DC Farmers Co-op on Northeast Stephens Street.

A Freeze-drying pantry goods course on October 9^th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the OSU Extension office on Southeast Douglas Avenue in Roseburg.

4-H enrollment opens at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1 for the 2026-27 school year.
