A man was jailed on sex offender charges after being found at the Douglas County Fair on Friday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:20 p.m. deputies were made aware that the 52-year-old Roseburg man, a level III sex offender, was present at the fair and was not supposed to be at any location where children congregate. The man was located near the main stage and was taken into custody. It was later discovered that the suspect had not reported since 2021.

The man was charged with unlawfully being where children congregate and for failure to report as a sex offender. He was detained without bail
