Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed two people following a disturbance on Saturday night.

A DCSO report said at 9:40 p.m. the 43-year-old woman and 47-year-old man were involved in the incident in the 200 block of Southwest Frontage Road in the Canyonville area, with the mention of someone being struck by a machete. Deputies arrived at the home and received no answer at the door. The back door of the apartment was kicked in and a deputy could hear what he believed was an active disturbance.

The deputy spoke with the woman who stated that the man had forced entry into the residence after forgetting his keys. She was angry about the damage and reportedly threatened him with the machete. At one point the woman allegedly struck the door to the man’s bedroom with the machete. The woman advised that she was trying to intimidate the man, so he would leave. She was taken into custody and charged with menacing and unlawful use of a weapon. The woman was detained without bail.

The man was detained due to a Jackson County Warrant for his arrest. He was released on Sunday.
