TEMPERATURES RAMPING UP, RECORD HIGH LIKELY SUNDAY IN THE UMPQUA VALLEY

High pressure moving on shore this weekend will lead to high temperatures ramping up in the Umpqua Valley with a record high like likely for Sunday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that Friday’s high temperature will be in the mid 80‘s which is around ten degrees above normal. Saturday will climb to the low 90s with highs pushing close to the century mark on Sunday and Monday. The record high for Sunday in Roseburg is 92 degrees, while the record for Monday is 99 degrees, both set in 1961. Forecasters said that heat advisories may be issued.

Cooling is expected to begin on Tuesday with highs dropping back to around 90 degrees. The balance of next week should be in the low 80s.

Thursday’s high temperature at the Roseburg Regional Airport was 84 degrees.
