Roseburg Police cited a man for an alleged harassment incident on Sunday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 1:45 p.m. officers responded to the 1900 block of Northeast Stephens Street for a disturbance. After an investigation, officers learned that a 47-year-old man had confronted a victim who had been wearing a clown mask and holding a sign while standing on a lane dividing the median near the suspect’s residence.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly ripped the clown mask off the victim’s face, which caused his hat and sunglasses to fall off and get damaged in the roadway. The suspect admitted to the incident but claimed the other man had been the aggressor. Several witnesses corroborated the victim’s account that the suspect was the aggressor.

The man was cited for harassment and second-degree criminal mischief. He was released from the scene.
