Two people were taken to the hospital after a vehicle rolled on Wednesday afternoon.
An Oregon State Police report said just after 3:00 p.m. troopers responded to the accident on Highway 38 near milepost 30 in the Elkton area. Investigation and passerby statements indicated that a pickup was traveling westbound when it left the roadway for unknown reasons, causing the vehicle to drift into an earthen embankment, slide and roll onto its top.
When troopers arrived, both individuals in the vehicle – women aged 75 – had been extricated from the vehicle by emergency medical and fire personnel. They were transported by ambulance. A towing company recovered the vehicle. Traffic on the highway was halted for a time, while the accident was cleaned up.
