NEARLY 20 PERCENT OF BALLOTS TURNED IN FOR MAY PRIMARY ELECTION

May 25, 2026 4:00 a.m.

Nearly 20 percent of ballots have been turned in for the 2026 Douglas County May Primary Election.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said 19.69 percent, or 17,780 ballots, had been received as of late Thursday afternoon. Loomis said that is 0.20 percent ahead of the participation rate for the same point in the 2022 May Primary Election.

Tuesday, May 19th at 8:00 p.m. is the election deadline. Those who take their ballot to the post office on or near Election Day should ask staff to stamp their envelope with a hand-cancellation stamp. A ballot with a postmark after May 19th will not be counted. Loomis said voters can always use one of the 15 official ballot drop sites until 8:00 p.m. on May 19th and be assured the ballot will be received and counted. A list of the drop site locations is posted at: https://www.douglascountyor.gov/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations
