Southern Oregon Goodwill has announced plans to relocate its Roseburg retail store to a new location early next year.
A Goodwill release said this is reinforcing its long-term commitment to Roseburg and Douglas County. The organization emphasized that it is not leaving the community but rather moving just a short distance to better serve shoppers, donors, and program participants.
The future store will be located at 1430 Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, in the former Rite Aid building, approximately three minutes from Goodwill’s current store on Northwest Stewart Parkway. Southern Oregon Goodwill has been serving the Roseburg community since 2003.
Southern Oregon Goodwill confirmed that its current Roseburg store and donations will remain open during the transition. Community members are encouraged to continue shopping and donating as plans move forward.
The relocation will allow Goodwill to expand its footprint in Roseburg, offering more parking, easier donation access and drop-off, and significantly larger spaces for its Job Connection and Learning Lab. The release said these expanded areas will support Goodwill’s mission to enable employment by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Southern Oregon Goodwill President and CEO Shae Johns said, “Roseburg and Douglas County are an important part of who we are”. Johns said, “This move is about staying rooted in the community while creating a space that allows us to do more, with more access, more learning, and more opportunities for people to build skills that lead to employment. We’re proud to continue investing locally and growing our impact right here in Roseburg”.
The release said the expanded Job Connection and Learning Lab will support workforce development activities such as job readiness services, career navigation, and digital literacy programs designed to help individuals gain skills needed in today’s workforce.
As with all Southern Oregon Goodwill locations, revenue generated through donated goods sales directly funds local employment and training programs. At the same time, Goodwill said the store plays a key role in sustainability by extending the life of donated items, reducing landfill waste, and encouraging reuse as a community practice.
Southern Oregon Goodwill plans to share additional updates on the move in the coming months. ‘
