ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR PROBATION VIOLATION

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a probation violation on Monday night.

An RPD report said at 11:50 p.m. officers responded to the 1000 block of Northeast Crescent Street after a 41-year-old falsely claimed his house was on fire. The man later admitted to officers that that he had consumed methamphetamine the previous day, which violated his probation stipulations. Officers contacted the man’s probation officer, who requested that he be detained. The man was taken into custody and was transported to corrections where he was detained without bail.
