A Winchester Bay man was charged with violation of a no contact order early Saturday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said 45-year-old Brandon Vanderploeg advised a victim he was at a residence in the 100 block of Riggs Hill Lane. When the victim got off work at around 2:15 a.m. she returned home to find Vanderploeg in her residence. The victim reportedly asked the man to leave many times before he finally went outside. Then Vanderploeg allegedly broke two windows before leaving the property.
Reedsport Police were unable to locate the suspect, and the victim left the area for the rest of the morning. The suspect is a commercial fisherman, and his vessel was currently out of port. Deputies were notified by the U.S. Coast Guard when the boat was brought back into port.
Vanderploeg was taken into custody and charged with 30 counts of violation of a release agreement, menacing and unlawful use of a weapon. He was detained without bail.
