A woman was hospitalized following a two-vehicle wreck on Tuesday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 11:25 a.m. the 69-year-old driver of a sedan was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Elgarose Road and Orchard Lane in Melrose. A 54-year-old pickup driver attempted to turn onto Orchard Lane by cutting the corner and turning into the other driver’s lane.

Both vehicles were damaged. The sedan was towed from the scene. The woman was injured as a result of the wreck and was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center.

The man who caused the crash was cited for careless driving.
