Adapt Integrated Health Care’s Prevention and Education team invites the community to attend its annual Art of Prevention Art Show on Wednesday night from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The free event will take place at the Roseburg Public Library on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. It showcases the creativity and voices of local youth through original artwork focused on substance use prevention, problem gambling prevention and suicide prevention.
An Adapt release said the Art of Prevention contest provides middle and high school students across Douglas County with a platform to express positive prevention messages through visual art. Each entry reflects how young people understand and communicate issues that directly affect their peers and communities.
Adapt Prevention and Education Program Manager Sidnee Hedrick said, “This event is a powerful reminder of the creativity and compassion of our youth to bring important community conversations”. Hedrick said, “Their artwork reflects real hope, awareness, and a commitment to making a difference”.
Attendees will be able to view all contest entries, meet the student artists and vote for the People’s Choice Award. Light refreshments will be provided. All ages are welcome to attend the Art of Prevention Art Show.
