A Riddle man was jailed for an alleged menacing and assault incident on Friday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 1:45 p.m. the victim and 50-year-old Wade Gilmore Junior were drinking and got into an argument in the 200 block of First Avenue in Riddle. Gilmore reportedly slapped and punched the victim in the face. He then allegedly pulled his pocketknife, opened it and held it against the victim’s neck.
The victim had swelling to her face near her eyes and nose. Gilmore was taken into custody. The knife was reportedly on his person and was seized at the time of the arrest.
Gilmore was charged with fourth-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. He was detained without bail.
