The Glide Wildflower Show is having its 60th anniversary event later this month.
Founded in 1965, it is the largest display of native flora in the northwest. Over 600 species of flowers, shrubs, grasses, ferns, lichens and mosses are gathered by dozens of volunteers who travel throughout southwest Oregon from the Cascade Mountains to the coast.
The show will be on Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days. Special presentations on plants will take place at various times each day. A guided wildflower walk will be held at 2:00 p.m. both days as well. Roving botanists will be available to answer questions. Flora books and guides are for sale.
Admission is a suggested $5 donation.
