DINT JAILS MAN ON METHAMPHETAMINE DEALING CHARGES

Wednesday evening, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team conducted a drug investigation in the Green area that resulted in one arrest and the seizure of a small amount of methamphetamine.

DINT Commander Lieutenant Rick McArthur said detectives had developed information indicating that 40-year-old Roy Phelps of Roseburg, would be in Green, allegedly for the purpose of selling meth. McArthur said at approximately 6:00 p.m. detectives located Phelps in the parking lot of a business in the 4600 block of Carnes Road. With assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Phelps was contacted and detained. McArthur said a search of his vehicle allegedly revealed an ounce of suspected meth and other evidence of drug sales.

The release said the area where this occurred was only a short distance from Green Elementary School. McArthur said there are additional laws in place for addressing drug activity that occurs near a school

Phelps was arrested and charged with unlawful possession, delivery and manufacture of methamphetamine, as well as additional charges of unlawful delivery and manufacture of meth within 1,000 feet of a school. Phelps was detained without bail.
