ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED STRANGULATION INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged strangulation incident on Sunday night.

An RPD report said at about 10:00 p.m. officers responded to the 2700 block of Northeast Douglas Avenue after a victim claimed a family member had physically assaulted him.

Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim and learned the suspect had reportedly put his hands around the victim’s throat for about a minute, choking him, and causing him to become lightheaded and feel like he was about to lose consciousness.

The 21-year-old suspect was contacted and admitted to the incident. He was charged with a felony count of strangulation. The man was detained without bail.
