Central Douglas Fire & Rescue firefighters are currently flushing and maintaining fire hydrants in their service area.

This includes the communities of Dixonville, Green, Melrose, Winchester, Wilbur, Winston, Garden Valley and unincorporated areas near the City of Roseburg.

Testing is being conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. During this process, water discoloration is possible depending on how bad the sediment on the water mains is, however the water is still safe to drink. Those who experience water issues with their water during this time, should allow water to run through their faucets until it clears.
