2024 WAS MUCH WETTER THAN NORMAL FOR ROSEBURG

2024 was a much wetter year than normal in Roseburg.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the Roseburg Regional Airport measured 39.63 inches of rain for the year. That’s nearly 25 percent above the normal amount, which is 32.07 inches.

Roseburg’s all-time wettest year was 1950, when Roseburg received 46.44 inches of precipitation. That was even more than 1964 when a Christmas flood devastated the Umpqua Valley. The rainfall total for that year was 43.12 inches.

December was the wettest month of 2024. The airport measured 8.61 inches of rain, well above the normal monthly amount of 6.05 inches.
While it was significantly wetter in 2024, it wasn’t much warmer. The average high temperature for the year was 68.6 degrees. The normal average high for Roseburg is 66.2 degrees.

The hottest day of the year was July 8th when the mercury reached 108 degrees at the airport.
